are always searching for new genetics in and outside our herd
to add substance to our program. In the spring of 2000 we selected
Cherokee Pine from Buffalo Creek Red Angus. Phenotypically he
grabs your eye and is flawless from head to tail. He was one of
the top performing bulls in their offering with exceptional EPDs.
Cherokee Pine is a great son from BufCrk Cherokee Canyon 4912
who was purchased by Leachman Cattle Co. in 1999. Cherokee Canyon
has shown calving ease that doesn't falter any with uniform balanced
calves. We expect Cherokee Pine to continue the same with added
growth and make a name for himself. 5711 has tremendous volume,
length and capacity and is great anyway one looks at him. One
of BufCrks high weaning, yearling and maternal bulls, he is in
the top 6% of the breed for WW, YW and 8% for Total Maternal EPDs.
We believe Cherokee Pine 5711 is one bull that surpases his sire
and will become a legitimate big time sire in his own right. Take
